80 miles across the Yorkshire Dales National Park staying in village B&B’s and Guest Houses. Limestone scenery that’s forever changing with the mood of the day, making this a beautiful long distance path. Gradients and terrain are easy, but the going may be muddy underfoot in wet weather.

Our journey takes us through typical yorkshire villages with plenty of opportunities to stop for a cuppa or a pint of good yorkshire ale!
We travel along Wharfedale and then Langstrothdale, gradually gaining height upstream to reach the Pennine watershed at Cam Fell (1700 feet). The way then runs down Dentdale to the market town of Sedbergh and across sheep pastures to our final destination Bowness on Windermere.
Great 1st time long distance path!
This is entirely a valley walk, following the River Wharfe upstream from the lowland scenery of Lower Wharfedale to the more hilly surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
We spend most of the day at valley bottom apart from the section between Grassington and Kettlewell which takes us over the moors with views over to Kilnsey Crag.
This stage includes the highest and wildest ground of the trip, the area of bleak open moorland reaching 430m/ 1410 feet, which you cross between the long ascent of Wharfedale and Langstrothdale and the shorter steeper descent into Dentdale.
This is an easier day in the peace and solitude of the secretive valley of Dentdale. Especially attractive are the whitewashed cottages and cobbled streets of the pretty village of Dent where we can relax and get a bite to eat!
It is no longer truly 'Dales' landscape, but this transitional zone of small hills and sheep farms between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks has its own charms.
This is a short day arriving in sufficient time to celebrate the completion of our journey. Options to take a cruise on the lake or sit and admire windermere from one of the many cafes.. the day is ours!

"Our guide, Pammy, made the holiday something much more than that. She embraced the differing strengths of the group and allowed each of us to walk at our own pace. She was encouraging and gave us a true sense of journeying together.”
"The holiday was one big adventure. The variety of locations and scenery made for a new experience every day. The women were one of the most tolerant, humorous and fun groups of people I have ever been on holiday with and we spent a lot of time laughing. I felt a real sense of achievement and I am very glad I came!" Dawn
“3 peaks break in the Dales last weekend was great. It is a really beautiful part of the country and a very well planned break. Pammy was a brilliant leader and kept a wide range of characters happy!”
"Fantastic walking - Pammy was a funny and exceptionally well-organised leader with superb group-management skills. She was great company and a friendly person to spend time with. The walking was even better than I expected".
